Awareness Through Movement (Feldenkrais) classes
with Uwe Mester
Ongoing Wednesdays 7:00pm- 8:00pm
No prerequisites-open to everyone!
Awareness Through Movement® consists of verbally directed movement sequences. The lessons consist of comfortable, easy movements that gradually evolve into movements of greater range and complexity. These precisely structured movement explorations involve thinking, sensing, moving and imagining. Many are based on developmental movements and ordinary functional activities (reaching, standing, lying to sitting, looking behind yourself, etc.), some are based on more abstract explorations of joint, muscle, and postural relationships. There are hundreds of ATM lessons, varying in difficulty and complexity, for all levels of movement ability.
The emphasis is on learning which movements work better and noticing the quality of these changes in your body. Through increased awareness, you will learn to abandon habitual patterns of movement and develop new alternatives, resulting in improved flexibility and coordination.

Ortho-Bionomy Exploration of Movement 14 CE Hours
with Dianne Swafford
Saturday & Sunday, June 5 & 6, 2010, 10am - 6pm
No prerequisites-open to everyone!
This course focuses on the observation and exploration of joint and muscle movement patterns. The participant will learn how to follow the body's movement preferences to enhance the fluid motion between the joints and muscles of the body. The techniques of Ortho-Bionomy will allow you to facilitate the release of the acute and chronic holding patterns that create the pain that goes with these patterns of tension. Releasing these patterns increases range of motion. You will learn palpation and sensing skills that will increase the effectiveness of your bodywork style.
Ortho-Bionomy is a gentle yet deeply effective form of body therapy, which is used to reduce tension, improve structural alignment and restore well being. The techniques are safe, simple and comfortable. Ortho-Bionomy is effective with both acute and chronic conditions including whiplash, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, migraine and other headaches. This technique is compatible with massage therapy and any other system of health care or personal growth. Describing Ortho-Bionomy is a bit like describing what chocolate taste like to someone who has never tasted chocolate. Oh - WOW !!.
Cost: $245 ($225 when paid in full by May 17th ).

abnormalities to determine the causative factors in relation to the particular imbalance. We will also look at the relationship of the reflexes in the feet and how they are associated with the particular condition.
We will make the connection between the reflex areas of the feet and the structural imbalances in the upper body to effectively treat each condition presented.
The union of orthopedic therapy and the science of reflex zone therapy make "Orthoflexology" a powerful protocol, which will help the practitioner to facilitate a greater healing potential within the receivers dysfunctional tissue. Orthoflexology is a unique blend of manual medicine that will provide amazing results.
