In the end,

what matters most is

How well did you live,

Annette Margot Browne

Has been a healer for over 25 years, and now her vocation incorporates three forms of healing as a Registered Nurse,
Yoga Instructor, and Asian Body Work Therapist

Originally from Zimbabwe, Annette has spent many cherished moments at Lake kariba in Zimbabwe, the beaches in Cape town, South Africa and Vermont’s lake Champlain.
Her massage and gentle personality resemble the flowing, rhythmic expansive nature of water.

Annette studied Asian body Work obtaining her certification through Touch stone Healing Arts. She gives massage in two forms; Amma and Shiatsu.

Amma
is the traditional word for
massage in the Japanese
language.

This form of bodywork is based on the principles of Chinese
medicine and is more than five thousand years old.

Amma brings to Western culture the ancient art and wisdom of traditional Japanese massage.

Amma techniques involve
pressing on a myriad of
acupuncture points along the 12 major meridians of the body.

Amma is practiced on a massage table and, unlike Western
massage, utilizes no oils.

Shiatsu
is a style of bodywork popularized after World War II, and developed from the Amma tradition.

Similar to acupressure, Shiatsu
concentrates on unblocking the flow of “stuck” life energy (Qi).
Free-flowing Qi restores balance to the meridians and organs so as to promote self-healing.
Shiatsu is done through loose
clothing with the client either
lying or seated on a floor mat.
Both Amma and Shiatsu treatments elicit relaxation while also
stimulating blood and lymphatic flow.

Benefits of both treatments include:

  • Pain relief
  • Strengthened immune system
  • Emotional calm
  • Mental clarity
  • Increased energy
